CASE STUDY: AVIS ABG LAC

An event with so many acronyms you know it must be important, ABG LAC welcomes over 120 licensees annually.

This summer, the Avis Budget Group Licencee’s Annual Conference made their way to Costa Rica for 3 days of meetings, updates and networking – barely time to cuddle a sloth!

But I made time. Because that’s what people who want to cuddle sloths do – they make time.

THE BRIEF

Due to the success of another event for the same client earlier this year, I was lucky enough to be booked again, this time as host for their Latin America & Caribbean conference.

My job across the 3-day event was to helm everything from the teambuilding session to a fireside interview with the CEO.

Occasionally dipping into my Box of Tricks, I was tasked with keeping the audience engaged throughout (whilst bearing in mind that for many, English wasn’t their first language).

THE SOLUTION

Working closely with the brand’s communications team we settled on a running order for the entirety of the conference, ensuring all my audience interaction moments created maximum impact with minimum language – wherever the story could be told visually, we worked to make that happen. Having also been informed that the CEO had recently announced his departure from the business later that year, preparations for the fireside chat were delicate and of paramount importance to set the appropriate tone. So I made sure careful planning was made so feet stayed firmly out of mouths throughout.

Along with structuring everything from the teambuilding session and networking dinners, I also performed close-up interactive magic to break the ice and worked to ensure I left everyone feeling relaxed, talking and connecting.

THE RESULT

The feedback from both client and attendees was universally positive. So much so that I was immediately booked to do it again – I’ll be hosting the European Licensee Conference in Lisbon later this year! A job well done!
