The Host With A Few Tricks Up His Sleeve
I’ve created shows for some of the biggest brands in the world and entertained everyone from kings and queens to tech giants and movie stars.
What makes me different from other performers is not just that I use a unique blend of audience participation, interactive magic and a bit of good old-fashioned wit and charm, but that I work directly with my clients from the start, which means each and every performance I give is tailored seamlessly into the message of the wider event.
I believe having this deeper connection from the get-go is why my act leaves such long-lasting impressions on audiences all over the world, and why for me, it’s the best job in the world!
Your Trusted Assistant
However well an event is planned, things go wrong. A temperamental microphone, a faulty projector, even a missing keynote speaker - I’ve seen it all.
That’s why I learned very quickly to be able to think on my feet.
I guess my training ground for this was hosting live on TV - there’s no other place where the phrase ‘the show must go on’ rings quite so true.
My thousands of hours on stage has served me well. So you can trust that when I’m up there, your event is in safe hands, no matter what might happen once the curtain goes up.
The Magic Ingredient
What makes me unique as a host is that there isn’t anybody else quite like me out there. I’ll make you laugh, but I’m not a comic, get the whole crowd involved, but I’m not a warm-up. I’ll weave your brand’s message into the narrative, but I’m not a brand ambassador - what I really am is a bit of all this, as well as being the glue that holds it all together too. However, one thing I definitely am is one of the UK’s leading magicians and a proud member of the Inner Magic Circle. So whichever direction we decide to take the show in, you can be sure that when I say I have a few tricks up my sleeve, I mean literally.
A Lot Under My Hat
I’ve been doing this for more than twenty years, worked with some amazing brands and had some unforgettable experiences. But if I had to boil it all down into the four things I’m most proud of, these would be those four…
by royal appointment
I have performed for over 40 kings and queens the world over, including for HRH Queen Elizabeth II herself. I can confirm that she was very nice and smelt of lavender (but I think she might have been a little star-struck at the time).
the most powerful endorsement around
I’ve figured out that 93% of first-time clients book me again. As far as accolades go, I’d have to say this is my favourite - if I promise you’re going to get a great show, you’ll get one. And once people see the kind of show I put on for themselves, they often want to work with me some more.
a global reach
I’ve performed in over 40 countries all over the world everywhere from Brighton to Brisbane, Punta Cana to Portsmouth. In fact, one of my clients - Xero - were so impressed with a show I put on in France, they flew me out to appear at one of theirs in Australia. From there, I headed back to the UK to host their flagship expo - Xerocon. An honour, but also a testament to the faith brands have in me to deliver.
a life spent on screen
I’ve hosted, featured and consulted on shows and adverts around the world. I’ve worked on everything from BAFTA winning dramas like Skins to family favourites like Britain’s Got Talent. But I’d have to say my proudest moment was winning ‘Best Entertainment Programme’ at The Broadcast Awards for my work on ‘Tricked’, a show for ITV which I co-wrote and consulted on for its entire 3 series run.
